Law is created to bring order to human behaviour. The legislator has established norms in legislation, the following of which should benefit people, with non-compliance resulting in punishment.

There are two major fields in law: private law and public law. Fundamentally, the difference between these two branches of law depends on who participates in the observed legal relationship.

Private law includes norms that regulate relationships between individuals. Private law involves civil law, commercial law, international private law, and intellectual property (e.g. copyright, patent law).

Public law includes norms, in which one of the parties is the state who participates in the legal relationship from the position of strength – by exercising its power. Besides constitutional law, public law also includes administrative, financial, criminal, and procedural law as well as international law.

Several freelancers also provide legal aid: counselling and law firms, notaries, bailiffs, state legal aid.
