Free time and nature

In Estonia, you can move across the natural and cultural landscape on foot, by bike, on skis, with a boat or on a horse. You can move on private land from sunrise to sunset. If private land is fenced or has signs that prohibit movement, you need an owner’s permission to cross. Land owners cannot prohibit movement on public lands, roads, and bodies of water that are public or intended for public use, as well as on ice and on a shore path.

All rights and commitments that connect people to nature are summed up as everyone’s right.
